Although we do not carry open stock of beading supplies or rubberstamping supplies, we are available to schedule small (1 – 4 people) A-La-Carte classes preferably starting in the mornings on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays before we open for business. Please contact us if you are interested.
We prepare our class and events by request. If there is something you would like to learn, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your request, either in the form of one of our previous sessions or through other arrangements. Scrolling back through the class schedule will show some of the classes we have done in the past. **At the moment, our calendar is not functioning in a way that we can add anything new. Please check the “News” page for any classes or events. Thank you for your patience. **
Crafting A-La-Carte is available Tuesdays and Thursdays during the day (mornings 9-11 & afternoons 1-3, we are flexible about those times). The time is available for class but nothing is scheduled until someone reserves the time. The first person to reserve the time chooses what the class will be. We need a minimum of 24 hours notice so we can prepare (some classes require 48 hours to prepare materials). Most classes are available (dependent upon materials availability).
One time of the year that it is difficult to schedule specific Saturday classes is football season. Pendleton is in such close proximity to Clemson that our traffic flow is greatly affected at certain times of the day on home game Saturdays. And our students, who many of which are also fans, are not always able to attend. We therefore schedule a variety of A-La-Carte and Open Studio times instead for those who wish to work around football.
Jo Hoffacker of Mondo Mojo is making a return visit to Pendleton and will be having a 1 1/2 day Trunk Show here at The Mercantile.
Jo makes wonderful glass beads, buttons and glass-tipped head pins as well as other fun and unique items.
Jo will have a fun Christmas project to make while she is here this time… last time it was a fun bracelet or a mini fairy garden, the time before was a fabulous pendant!

The Fall box for the class was designed by Terri and can be viewed from either side. It is much more detailed and will be a 3 hour class.

Learn the technique of folding papers to create wonderful designs. All of the designs will have an Autumnal design or color theme.

We have days set aside as a la carte days. There is not a class scheduled until someone reserves the time (24 hour advanced notice needed to prepare.), then they get to pick the topic. We will run a class for as few as 1 person and as many as 6 normally. If you have a larger group we can hold up to 15. If you don’t see a class that you want please ask…we have a number of talented teachers who can do just about anything……

This groups meets once a month, with a variety of topics on the agenda. It is a non formal gathering, with a lot of discussion and show and tell. The idea of the group was to explore a variety of techniques in a variety of media as a group. Each month we usually have an exercise for each member to create, contemplate and explore. If you are interested in joining us, call the Mercantile and let us know so that we can ensure there is enough seating for all.
