Schedule of Classes & Events

Although we do not carry open stock of beading supplies or rubberstamping supplies, we are available to schedule small (1 – 4 people) A-La-Carte classes preferably starting in the mornings on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays before we open for business. Please contact us if you are interested.

We prepare our class and events by request.  If there is something you would like to learn, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your request, either in the form of one of our previous sessions or through other arrangements. Scrolling back through the class schedule will show some of the classes we have done in the past. **At the moment, our calendar is not functioning in a way that we can add anything new.  Please check the “News” page for any classes or events. Thank you for your patience. **

Classroom

Crafting A-La-Carte is available Tuesdays and Thursdays during the day (mornings 9-11 & afternoons 1-3, we are flexible about those times).  The time is available for class but nothing is scheduled until someone reserves the time.  The first person to reserve the time chooses what the class will be.  We need a minimum of 24 hours notice so we can prepare (some classes require 48 hours to prepare materials).  Most classes are available (dependent upon materials availability).

One time of the year that it is difficult to schedule specific Saturday classes is football season. Pendleton is in such close proximity to Clemson that our traffic flow is greatly affected at certain times of the day on home game Saturdays. And our students, who many of which are also fans, are not always able to attend.  We therefore schedule a variety of A-La-Carte and Open Studio times instead for those who wish to work around football.

Clay Cups
Jun 30 @ 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Clay Cups – 3 hours – Cindy Earl Higgins – $25

Due to Cindy breaking her arm, this class is cancelled and will be offered again after she is able to get back to working with the clay.  We are sorry for any inconvenience.

In this class, the students will learn how to build clay cups with textured surfaces.  Some may have handles, others may not.

These will be created out of ceramic clay that will need to dry thoroughly (at lease 1 week) and be fired once to strengthen them.  The student will then make arrangements to come back to glaze them before they are dried and fired again to a hotter temperature to complete them.

All glazes that will be available for use are lead free and food safe when used according to the manufacturers directions.

A photo of a sample style will be posted once its final firing is complete.

Happy Stack: Clay
Sep 25 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Happy Stack: Clay – Cindy Earl Higgins – $25.00 – 3 hours

Create a stack of ceramic tiles using slab building techniques. Students will create textures, carve away areas, and add dimensional items to the tiles.

The tiles will then need to dry thoroughly and be fired once to strengthen them. The students will then arrange to come back to glaze them prior to being fired the last time to 2200* F.

Photos of the sample will be added when it is completed.

Sign-up must be at least 48 hours prior to the class so the students can formulate their ideas and leave the full 3 hours of class time for creating their vision.
