Schedule of Classes & Events

Although we do not carry open stock of beading supplies or rubberstamping supplies, we are available to schedule small (1 – 4 people) A-La-Carte classes preferably starting in the mornings on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays before we open for business. Please contact us if you are interested.  

We prepare our class and events by request.  If there is something you would like to learn, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your request, either in the form of one of our previous sessions or through other arrangements. Scrolling back through the class schedule will show some of the classes we have done in the past. **At the moment, our calendar is not functioning in a way that we can add anything new.  Please check the “News” page for any classes or events. Classroom

Crafting A-La-Carte is available Tuesdays and Thursdays during the day (mornings 9-11 & afternoons 1-3, we are flexible about those times).  The time is available for class but nothing is scheduled until someone reserves the time.  The first person to reserve the time chooses what the class will be.  We need a minimum of 24 hours notice so we can prepare (some classes require 48 hours to prepare materials).  Most classes are available (dependent upon materials availability).

One time of the year that it is difficult to schedule specific Saturday classes is football season. Pendleton is in such close proximity to Clemson that our traffic flow is greatly affected at certain times of the day on home game Saturdays. And our students, who many of which are also fans, are not always able to attend.  We therefore schedule a variety of A-La-Carte and Open Studio times instead for those who wish to work around football.

LuLaRoe Katie Dante Pop Up Boutique

Our long-time customer/friend Jean Jones was planning on bringing her selection of LuLaRoe clothing for you to shop right here at The Mercantile.  Unfortunately, she has had a set-back in her hip replacement recovery and our mutual friend Katie Dante will be here instead.  Katie should be a familiar name to those of you who have been to a LuLaRoe pop-up here before, she is our usual consultant.

LuLaRoe is a line of easy-care, comfortable clothing for women, men and children.  There are many styles to choose from including leggings, a variety of skirts, several dresses, comfy tops, cardigans and more.

We have scheduled it at a time so people can stop by on their way home from work.

A-Muse Group

A MUSE is a FREE group of creative souls that meets once a month, with a variety of topics on the agenda. It is a non formal gathering, with a lot of discussion and show and tell. The idea of the group is to explore a variety of techniques in a variety of media as a group. Each month we usually have an exercise for each member to create, contemplate and explore. If you are interested in joining us, call the Mercantile and let us know so that we can ensure there is enough seating for all.

Pendleton After Hours

The Pendleton Area Business Association, in conjunction with the Town of Pendleton and the Pendleton Area Business Council are hosting Pendleton After Hours.  If you are familiar with the “Business After Hours” that are hosted by many Chamber of Commerce, this is along those same lines.

The Altered Canvas Project

The Altered Canvas Project, 3 hours, $30.00 – $35.00, Terri Earl Brooks

New Design – Watch this space for a reveal! 

The Altered Canvas Project is Terri’s version of a painting party.  For each project, she will have a completed Altered Canvas Design that will be recreated by the students.

The Altered Canvas Project is a 3 hour class.  Each student will recreate a mixed media piece on a gallery wrapped canvas.  All materials needed to complete the piece are included in the cost of the class.  Aprons, easels, and tools are available for student use during the class.  Class cost for the designs created for smaller canvases is $30.00 while the designs created for the larger canvases are $35.00.

This class is being held during store hours, and is limited to 6 students.  Larger groups can be scheduled as an evening A La Carte.

Additional Altered Canvas Designs will be added, and scheduled as available.  Each class will consist of a single design being recreated.

Pendleton’s Second Friday

Pendleton Fall Harvest Festival

This wonderful festival on the historic village green in downtown Pendleton, SC boasts over 90 vendors, entertainment, children’s activities and delicious foods (both from the vendors & the local eateries).  Spend the day visiting the local shops in our beautiful town as well as seeing what regional artisans have created.

This is a rain or shine event.
