Although we do not carry open stock of beading supplies or rubberstamping supplies, we are available to schedule small (1 – 4 people) A-La-Carte classes preferably starting in the mornings on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays before we open for business. Please contact us if you are interested.
We prepare our class and events by request. If there is something you would like to learn, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your request, either in the form of one of our previous sessions or through other arrangements. Scrolling back through the class schedule will show some of the classes we have done in the past. **At the moment, our calendar is not functioning in a way that we can add anything new. Please check the “News” page for any classes or events. Thank you for your patience. **
Crafting A-La-Carte is available Tuesdays and Thursdays during the day (mornings 9-11 & afternoons 1-3, we are flexible about those times). The time is available for class but nothing is scheduled until someone reserves the time. The first person to reserve the time chooses what the class will be. We need a minimum of 24 hours notice so we can prepare (some classes require 48 hours to prepare materials). Most classes are available (dependent upon materials availability).
One time of the year that it is difficult to schedule specific Saturday classes is football season. Pendleton is in such close proximity to Clemson that our traffic flow is greatly affected at certain times of the day on home game Saturdays. And our students, who many of which are also fans, are not always able to attend. We therefore schedule a variety of A-La-Carte and Open Studio times instead for those who wish to work around football.
To Market, to Market to buy goodies for the store!
We are closing a little early on Friday so we can get to Atlanta and be well rested for spending the nest 2 days looking at new things for the store. Terri has been preparing for this trip for a couple of months! :~)
We will be open again at our usual time on Monday morning 7/18/16!

We will be hosting Dyar’s Diner at The Mercantile again and are looking forward to a fun evening!
Our feature of the evening is a book signing! Catherine Garrison Davis and Elizabeth Garrison Rasor will join us to autograph their Night-Night Little Tiger book. You can either bring one you already have or buy one that evening.
We will also have some samplings of some of our gourmet foods and mixes. Dyar’s will most probably be sampling some of their delicious desserts as well.
We hope you can come and visit and see what’s going on.
Our LuLaRoe consultant friend Katie Dante is bringing her wonderfully comfortable clothes here to The Mercantile for another Pop-up Boutique! We planned it for 5 – 7 PM on Monday, August 15 so you can stop by on your way home from work.
LuLaRoe is known for their buttery soft leggings as well as their wonderful selection of skirts, tops and dresses and cardigans, all in sizes to fit from XXS – 3XL. In addition to that, they also have a wonderful line of children’s clothing.
What makes their prints unique is that only 1,000 – 2,000 items are made from each print. That print will show up in multiple sizes across several styles. But when they are gone, they are gone.
We will have refreshments available and are looking forward to a fun evening!
We will be closed for Labor Day and re-open at our regular time of 10:00 AM on Tuesday.

We will be having a guest artist at The Mercantile this month and are looking forward to a fun evening! Our friend Yvonne Park is a painter who works primarily in oils and displayed in front of the store during the Art Crawl in 2015.
Yvonne will be doing a drawing for one of her other pieces that evening. Stop by and see what beautiful paintings she has, as well as some hand painted jewelry pieces.
We will also have some samplings of some of our gourmet foods and mixes.
Dyar’s Diner has moved their samplings next door to Palmetto Place since one of the partners there is Meg Dyar.
We hope you can come and visit and see what’s going on.

We are looking forward to October’s Second Friday, featuring a book signing with Christie Drawdy, author of The Adventures of Harley, the Sugar Glider.
Christie is a local author who works as a speech language pathologist in Anderson School District 4. She and her husband, Dennis, have two children and are the proud humans that share the life of Harley the Sugar Glider.
Come visit with Christie (and Harley!) and pick up a copy of her delightful childrens book to have her sign.
We will also serve refreshments as we do each month. Most likely some wine, dips, cheese & crackers… who knows what else… maybe an apple cake!
We hope you can come and visit and see what’s going on.

We will be closed to celebrate Thanksgiving with our family.
Wishing you & yours a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Each year the Town of Pendleton waits until just after Thanksgiving to light the beautiful tree that stands on the Village Green. Most of the businesses in town light their windows with white lights to add to the ambience.
There will be Hot Mulled Cider & Cookies as well as Mr. & Mrs. Claus!
The Mercantile will remain open until 8:00 that evening in case you want to do a little shopping while you are here for the festivities.
